3 Month Recap

Hey Everyone,

We've been super lax on posting updates since we moved, mostly because life has been ultra chaotic. Here's a brief recap.

December- Just after the last post, Beth and I were in a car accident involving a deer and a couple trees. Beth knocked her noggin pretty hard, and we spent most of the night in the ER instead of heading home for Christmas. At first it was a bummer, but my parents came up to ease us through the holidays. We also realized how blessed we were with how well our small congregation took care of us through visits, meals, and prayers. We were also thankful for all the supportive text, phone calls, emails, and prayers of everyone back home.

January- The first day of the new year we moved. A new year, a new house. My resolution was no more moving this year. My dad was to not help me move again this year. Settling in was tough, especially just a week removed from the accident and both of us not being up to full speed yet. There was also a bit of adjusting to a horrendously run down bathroom and old house noises. Moose seemed a little freaked to even go outside since wild life is in abundance in our new place. Deer and wolf especially.

February- My birthday was this month. We also began planning for some big interior decorating projects. I took on the task of picking out and setting up a new computer system for the church. Beth and I both started seeing a chiropractor, but due to our wonderful insurance not being so wonderful, it may not continue. Beth is beginning to build relationships with the kids at her daycare, and their families.

March- The real work begins in the bathroom. We've had a few people volunteer their expertise to get things together, such as patching holes, replacing green board, fitting and mounting a medicine cabinet, and tiling. Beth and I handled the stripping of wall paper backing, priming, and painting. As of today, we are some trim and silicone seal away from being finished. Beth is all ready to turn her sights on the bed room and I'm prepared to stand by and watch unless she wants to wait until April.

As far as a general overview of the church goes, things have been fairly standard. The crowd has been as many as 30 and as few as 5. A couple weeks ago, a Jewish Messianic group came and played worship for us. It happened to be one of the few weekends Beth was gone, which is ironic due to her family background being deeply seated in those origins. Jake and I are in talks getting me into the church treasury position. While most weeks, there's not a lot of offering to take in, but it's a start.

That's all for now. A group of some friends just walked in for doing some work in the community. It's time to go be communal. Thanks again for the prayers, and sorry again for the lack of updates.
Love,
Jon and Beth.
